Third Thursday | Starlit Verses
April 16, 2026 | 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Networking | 7:00 Program Begins
Starlit Verses is a National Poetry Month experience that brings together the commanding voice of Detroit’s Poet Laureate, Jessica Care Moore, with the rich, soaring harmonies of Starlit Ways, traveling from Columbus. This dynamic evening centers the brilliance of Black artistic expression, where poetry and music converge to create a space of reflection, connection, and collective imagination.
Through powerful spoken word, live musical performance, and intimate storytelling, the night will reveal the depth, beauty, and resilience found within our communities. Artists will offer work that speaks to memory, identity, love, struggle, and possibility, reminding us that creativity is both a form of resistance and a pathway toward healing.
Starlit Verses invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and gather in shared presence. It is an opportunity to experience the transformative power of language and sound, to be moved by voices that carry truth, and to celebrate the enduring legacy of Black poets and musicians who continue to shape our cultural landscape.
Join us for an evening where poetry glows, music lifts, and together we create a constellation of stories under stars of our own making.
