The Charles H. Wright Museum is proud to collaborate with The Detroit Cultural Center Association (DCCA) to participate in the fourth annual Educators Night from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026.

This evening aims to give educators an opportunity to explore the Detroit Cultural Center as a classroom without walls while discovering programs, resources and experiences they can bring back to their students throughout the school year.

This free, district-wide event will bring together five Cultural Center institutions and more than 80 arts, cultural, STEM and education nonprofit partners from across Southeast Michigan. Early childhood and pre-K-12 educators, school administrators and homeschooling parents are invited to explore field trips, classroom-ready resources, professional development opportunities, hands-on learning experiences, traveling and in-school programs, summer opportunities, student and teacher wellbeing resources and more.

What's Happening at The Wright Museum?

Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History Theme: Performing Arts & Culture

At the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, educators can experience dance performances and workshops and connect with organizations focused on arts, culture, education and community resources. 

Educators can also explore several museum exhibitions during the evening, including Who Votes?, The Art of Elizabeth Catlett, Stories in Stained Glass, Black, White & Red: Black Women in Silent Film and Bill Smith the Jeweler.

Parking Information

Free parking is available in the DIA Cultural Center lot starting at 4:00 PM. Paid parking is available in the Detroit Historical Museum lot and WSU Rackham garage. Metered street parking also available throughout the district.
