We are proud to partner with Trinity Films Entertainment Group, The Ford Foundation, The Love Building, and The Marlene Boll Theater (YMCA) to present the 6th Annual Detroit Black Film Festival (DETBFF) — a powerful celebration of Black voices in cinema.
From September 25 through September 28, 2025, audiences are invited to experience a dynamic showcase of 72 films from 30 countries, highlighting the creativity, resilience, and global impact of Black filmmakers and storytellers.
This year’s festival promises an unforgettable lineup of screenings, talkbacks, and community events that uplift and amplify the stories that shape our culture.

Liquid Forum Speaker Series featuring EARL E-40 Stevens
Earl “E-40” Stevens is a multiplatinum recording artist, actor, entrepreneur and New York Times best-selling author that hails from Vallejo, California. Over the course of his 30+ year career in the music industry, E-40 has firmly solidified his status as a living hip-hop legend, having released several multiplatinum and gold studio albums, mixtapes, collaborations and hit singles, including “U and Dat,” “Tell Me When To Go,” “Choices (Yup),” and “Function,” among countless others.
Beyond his accolades as an entertainer, the Vallejo native has become equally as successful as an entrepreneur, having built a robust empire in the wine and spirits industry. Since pivoting into the adult beverage space in 2013, E-40 has launched over 17 different still and sparkling wine offerings under his “Earl Stevens Selections” line, a tequila (E. Cuarenta Tequila), a cognac (Tycoon Cognac), a bourbon (Kuiper Belt Bourbon), a gin (Kuiper Belt Gin), a vodka (Tycoon Vodka) and a variety of pre-mixed cocktails (Sluricane) and a golden lager beer (E. Cuarenta Cerveza) with more to come.
The Liquid Forum, a cornerstone of the Taste of Black Spirits initiative, will unite industry professionals, established brands, aspiring entrepreneurs, and curious individuals committed to enhancing the representation of historically marginalized communities within the beverage alcohol sector.
This year's Liquid Forum will be held at the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History - COMMUNITY ROOM in Detroit on September 26, 11:30 am - 4:30pm will feature guest speakers Hardy McQueen, Ursula Dunn, KAVY LENON, Glenn Thomas, Darryl Reese, UrFriend Charles, Duane Simpson, Lakesha Foreman, Jon Renthrope, and -LAZAR FAVORS. The event will be filled with educational opportunities, networking, business development, and discussions on sustainability, shelf causation, and long-term financial strategies.
