The 130th Anniversary of the Battle of Adwa will be commemorated with a powerful celebration honoring one of the most decisive victories against colonial expansion in African history. In 1896, Ethiopian forces united across regions, ethnicities, and faiths to defeat an invading army, securing sovereignty and inspiring liberation movements across Africa and the global Black diaspora. This gathering recognizes the courage, unity, and sacrifice that made Adwa a lasting symbol of resistance, dignity, and self-determination.

The program will feature vibrant expressions of Ethiopian and African heritage through traditional dance and rich food culture, offering guests an immersive cultural experience rooted in community and hospitality. These traditions invite participants to engage their senses while deepening understanding of shared histories, ancestral continuity, and cultural pride. Through remembrance, storytelling, and celebration, the evening affirms the enduring power of unity, resilience, and collective identity.
