Longtime legislator to lie in state at Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History 
 
The following are final arrangements for Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, who passed away on October 7, 2025 at the age of 80: 
 
Monday, October 20, 2025 
Lie in State
Congresswoman Kilpatrick will lie in state in the rotunda of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, 315 E. Warren in Detroit MI 48201 (313) 494-5800 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. 
 
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Service 
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will conduct an Omega Omega service at the museum beginning at 6:30 p.m. 
 
Wednesday, October 22, 2025 
Funeral 
Funeral services for Congresswoman Kilpatrick will take place at noon at Greater Emmanuel Church of God in Christ, 19190 Schaefer Hwy, Detroit, MI 48235.
