Talks & Tours

Third Thursdays @ The Wright - April

Thursday, April 20, 2023 | 5:00 - 9:00

A Solar Powered Conversation.

Unwind after work or get the weekend started early with music and poetry, and a very special conversation between artist and solar enthusiast Ash Arder and East Side Riders Bike Club founder King Wayne.

No matter the form, energy touches us all. It impacts our ability and motivation to connect with the world around us. We have invited Ash Arder and King Wayne to talk about this and the various forms of energy in their work.

Both Detroiters are recognized locally and globally for using creativity to get people from all walks of life excited to go outside and explore. During the Solar Powered Conversation, the artists will share their ideas of turning familiar, relatable activities - like riding a bike or playing music - into projects that educate, inspire, and take better care of Earth’s resources; as well as explore all that can be learned from the resiliency of communities of color impacted by climate change, and the insistence to not only survive, but thrive under such circumstances.

Date: April 20th

Time: 5pm – 9pm (Conversation from 7pm-8pm)

Place: The Wright Museum, Rotunda: 315 E Warren Ave, Detroit, MI, 48201
