49th Annual Noel Night

Saturday, December 2, 2023 | 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM

In our annual holiday event partnership with Midtown Detroit Inc., The Wright will feature holiday gifts our award winning store, vendors, family-friendly activities, including pictures with Santa Claus & Mrs. Claus and more. We will also offer free access to The Ruth E. Carter: Afrofuturism in Costume Design Exhibition. 

The 49th annual Noel Night will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in Detroit’s Midtown District.  Venues north of Warren Avenue in the Cultural Center will be open from 5:00-9:00 p.m., and venues south of Warren Avenue will be open 5:00-10:00 p.m. Over 100 institutions, including The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, College for Creative Studies, Detroit Public Library, Detroit Institute of Arts, the Magic Stick, Michigan Science Center, MOCAD, and Wayne State University, and the local small business community will open their doors to the public free of charge during this district-wide holiday open house. Activities include holiday shopping at local businesses and pop-up winter marketplaces, family make-and-take crafts, visits with Santa, food trucks and beverage stands, and performances by over 80 area music, theatre, and dance groups.  

Noel Night headlining performers include:  Abigail Stauffer and The Wisdom, Audivi, Brooklyn Qawwali Party, Chris Bathgate, Detroit Youth Choir, Detroit Puppet Company with Detroit Opera and Shara Nova, Flying Cardboard Theater, Frisson, Julien Labro and The Chanson Experiment, Montreal Guitare Trio, OB Succari and his PanaMO septet, and Thornetta Davis. 

Woodward Avenue will remain open to traffic. Noel Night activities take place in Midtown Detroit, and free shuttle service is offered between participating venues between 5:00-10:30 p.m. Convenient parking is available in area lots and decks.
