THE CHARLES H. WRIGHT MUSEUM CELEBRATES KWANZAA

The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is excited to celebrate Kwanzaa with the following events:

THE MOTOR CITY KWANZAA KINARA

The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is a proud sponsor and participant of The Motor City Kwanzaa Kinara in collaboration with Councilman Scott Benson, Alkebu-lan Village, and Downtown Detroit Partnership. They have all come together for the creation of a 30-foot-tall Kwanzaa Kinara that will be housed in Campus Martius, alongside the Christmas Tree and Menorah.

On December 26, 2022, the Kinara will be introduced to the city for the first time.

Join us as we celebrate this beautiful display of culture being brought to the heart of Detroit. The official unveiling will be from 5:00pm-5:30pm.

UJAMAA at THE WRIGHT

Our celebration will take place at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History 315 E. Warren, Detroit, MI 48201 on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 5pm to 9pm.
