Dignitaries And Performers Come Together for a Virtual Fundraising Event To Benefit the Charles H. Wright Museum Of African American History

DETROIT, MI (Oct. 23, 2020) - The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History invites all supporters of Black history and culture to celebrate the past and champion the future of the institution on October 28, 2020, at 8 pm EST with “The Time is Wright Now!,” a virtual gathering fundraiser. Streaming on the museum's website, local dignitaries like Deputy Mayor Conrad Mallet, Judge Craig Strong, Council Member Scott Benson, and others will join The Wright Museum’s CEO Neil Barclay and Board Chair Eric Peterson in hosting this exciting and meaningful event!

Co-sponsored by Ford Motor Company, Comerica Bank, DTE Energy, MGM Grand, and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, this very special program will feature appearances and performances by local and national celebrities, including jessica Care moore, De’Sean Jones, Marion Hayden, and a host of others, along with a moving memorial tribute to those we have lost this year to COVID-19. All contributions will go towards general operating support for The Wright Museum during this critical time in our history!

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not hold our Annual Wright Gala. Instead, we will gather virtually to reflect on The Wright's role in leading the nation to better understand the Black experience, and the work the museum has and will continue to do, in fostering conversations that have helped the healing,” says Barclay.

Individual tickets begin at $500 and are available for purchase now.

The Wright Museum’s mission is to open minds and change lives through the exploration and celebration of African American history and culture. Visit the museum's website for more information!
