Moderated by Jenn White, this virtual talk features Susan Neiman, author of Learning From the Germans: Race and the Memory of Evil. Neiman’s book discusses how Germany deals with its past in the Holocaust and how America deals with our history of racism and slavery, especially with the rise in white nationalism and controversy around Confederate monuments.

About Jenn White
Jenn White is an American journalist. She has worked in public radio since 1999 and began her broadcast journalism career as the host of Michigan Radio's All Things Considered. She later moved to Chicago's WBEZ where she hosted Reset with Jenn White, as well as the podcasts Making Oprah, Making Beyoncé, and 16 Shots. White became the host of 1A in July 2020.
