Jazz Montage: A Conversation with Author Robin Wilson & Tisha Hammond

Join us in the General Motors Theater for a conversation, jazz performances, and book signing for a new children's book, "Mama Got Rhythm and Daddy Got Rhyme" by Robin Wilson

Moderated by fellow author Tisha Hammond, the conversation will address the importance of representation in children's literature (particularly related to the Black experience) Wilson's personal narrative, the influence of jazz music later genres, and more.

Finally, join in for an "A Great Day in Detroit" photoshoot! Inspired by Art Kane's famous 1958 photo "A Great Day in Harlem," Robin Gamble Photography will capture this photo outside of the General Motors Theater in the rotunda following the program.

Free and open to the public, registration is required.

Preorder the book on Nov. 9
