For this free event, held in The Wright's General Motors Theater, Kendi will appear in conversation with Dr. Stephen Ward, Associate Professor in the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies and the Residential College at the University of Michigan.
Immediately following the conversation there will be a Q&A session, and a book signing. Dr. Kendi's latest, How to Be An Antiracist, will be on sale at this event.
About Dr. Ibram X. Kendi
Ibram X. Kendi, PhD, is a New York Times bestselling author, and the founding director of the Anti-Racist Research & Policy Center at American University. A professor of history and international relations and a frequent public speaker, Kendi is a columnist at The Atlantic. He is the author of Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America, which won the National Book Award for Nonfiction, and The Black Campus Movement, which won the W.E.B. DuBois Book Prize. A native of Jamaica, Queens, Kendi lives in Washington, DC.
