Detroit Independent Freedom School: Fall Semester
A free, African-centered educational experience for children and families, the Detroit Independent Freedom School (DIFS) mobilizes volunteers and resources, clearing the way for an independent Freedom Schools movement in Detroit, while simultaneously cultivating strength and a sense of self-determination within its participants and within the community at-large.
DIFS session has two areas of emphasis: (1) tutoring in core subjects and skills, and (2) engagement in educational activities that are inspiring and culturally enriching, pushing students to achieve their full potential.
