The CROWN Series: Part 2

Sunday, March 7, 2021 | 2 PM

Join us for a virtual conversation with leaders in Detroit's natural hair community as we bring awareness to the CROWN Act and celebrate the diversity of African-American hair!

Guest speakers will include Asia Hamilton (director of Norwest Gallery, HAIRarchy exhibit) and Ettafly Espy (creator of Naturally FLYY, Detroit's largest natural hair event).

Starting in 2019, The CROWN Act (which bans discrimination against natural hair) and similar initiatives have been adopted in Califonia, New Jersey, York City, Virginia, Washington, and Colorado.  Some states, including Michigan, are in the process of but have yet to ban discrimination based on hair texture.

Free and open to the public, registration is not required for viewing.
