Description
Join us for a rousing meal for the body, mind and spirit at the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Breakfast Celebration! Doors open at 7 am and seating is on a first come, first served basis. Breakfast is from 8 - 9 am in the Ford Freedom Rotunda followed by a program in the General Motors Theater. Keynote speaker: Rev. Dr. Georgia Hill, Plymouth United Church of Christ. A special tribute to Congressman John Conyers. Performances by Armond and the Institute of Music & Dance at Marygrove College. Honorary Chairman: The Honorable Damon J. Keith.

About Rev. Dr. Georgia Hill
At Plymouth Rev. Dr. Hill leads the adult and youth Christian education program. She is the director of Revelation Dance Ministry, teaches a Saturday Morning Bible Study and leads a monthly women’s Bible discussion group. Rev. Dr. Hill leads the church’s outreach ministries to local families, youth and elders. Rev. Hill’s doctor of ministry work focused on the beloved community. She has made mission trips to Africa and Mexico and traveled to Egypt, Syria and Israel for study. Rev. Hill serves her community through her work at the Detroit Public Library (DPL) where she initiated a DARFUR exhibit there. She is currently working on literacy issues through the DPL. As the clergy and community representative on the Harper-Hutzel-Karmanos Ethics Committee Rev. Hill is called upon to reflect on end-of-life issues together with health professionals caring for people at the crisis moment of impending death. Rev. Dr. Hill loves worship and studying the Bible and she is excited about what God is doing among and through Christians in this hour.
