In partnership, with the Wayne County, Michigan Regional Education Service Agency, the Charles H. Wright is providing African American History Teaching and Learning Modules that are accessible via the Internet. The modules offer interactive lessons detailing the history of African American experience from Ancient West Africa to the present.
Each module includes two lessons that combine animation with captivating audio and pictures to teach students educational objectives adhering to the Michigan Department of Education’s Social Studies Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs) for grades five to eight. Students’ comprehension of the materials are tested in each lesson by completing fun puzzles and games.
The timeline, interactive map, glossary and teacher’s guide provide supplemental reference and learning materials that enhance historical perspective and knowledge.
